LARRY SAYLER OBITUARY
MARYSVILLE, Ohio - Larry Mark Sayler, 54, Marysville and formerly of Rapid City, S.D., died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, in the emergency room at Memorial Hospital of Union County. He was the proud, happy owner of Evergreen Waste Services for the past 3-1/2 years. He grew up working with his father in waste management and upon his move to central Ohio nearly 20 years ago worked with several waste management companies and served as the manager of the Cherokee Run Landfill, Bellefontaine, before establishing his own business. Larry was fondly regarded as "The Big Guy," "Mr. Incredible," and "The Gentle Giant" and is remembered as "a great big guy with a great big golden heart." He was a member of the BPOE 1130, Marysville Moose Lodge 1651, and the Union County Chamber of Commerce. Larry was an active and devoted family man who previously served as president of the Marysville Baseball Association and was active with the Marysville Mitts. He enjoyed going to Indian Lake in the summer and spent his winters up at "the hill" (Mad River Mountain). He loved soccer, baseball, and water sports and was an accomplished snow skier, earning the respect and admiration from many fellow members of the "Mad River Crew." He had a soft spot for all animals but especially valued the friendship he shared with the family's Chow-Akita mix, Opal, whom Larry called his "chaquita." More than anything, Larry was a loving husband and a proud father who treasured time spent with his family. He was born Sept. 20, 1955, in Rapid City to the late O. Dale and Lois Jenkins Sayler. He married Doreen Lockwood on Dec. 12, 1981 but always considered the day he met her to be their "true" anniversary. Along with his loving wife, Doreen, survivors include his children, Teresa Sayler and Kevin Sayler, both of Marysville; two sisters, Susan Schneider and Cheryl Sayler, both of Denver; a nephew, Matthew Schneider; his father-and-mother-in-law, Ken and Dorothy Lockwood, Fremont, Neb.; his in-laws and their families, Frank (Amy) Lockwood, Page, NE; and Curt (Deb) Lockwood and Denise Richards, all of Fremont; and countless friends. https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/rapidcity/name/larry-sayler-obituary?pid=138497771
