Funeral services for Michael Raymore, 55 of La Plant, SD will be at 10 AM MT, Thursday May 27, 2010 at the Old Agency Building in Eagle Butte. Rev. Richard Charging Eagle will be officiating. Burial will be in the Togole Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. An all night wake will start at 6 PM at the Old Agency Building Wednesday with a prayer service at 7 PM. Michael passed away Friday, May 21, 2010 at his home.
George Michael Raymore was born in Denver, Colorado, on January 23, 1955, to Clarinda LeBeau and Howard Raymore. The second oldest of four children, he graduated from Rapid City Central High School in 1973. He had an Associates Degree in Dental Technology and worked as a Dental Technician for most of his life.
Michael married Sherry Johnson in 1973 and they had 1 son, Michael Free. He married Cynthia Brings Plenty, March 13, 1992, and they had four children; Trevino, Sheldon, Danielle, and Togole.
Michael and Cynthia lived in Oregon and Washington before moving to LaPlant in 1998 where he opened "Hi KAGA" Denture Service and closely worked with the IHS Dental Office in Eagle Butte, SD.
He is survived by his father, Howard Raymore, Portland, Oregon, aunt, Cleo Gayton, Rapid City, SD. His children; Michael Free Raymore, Vancouver, WA, Trevino Brings Plenty, Portland, OR, Sheldon Raymore, Las Vegas, Nevada, Danielle Traversie, Rapid City, SD, Togole Raymore, LaPlant, SD.
Sisters; Phyllis Raymore, Portland, OR, Catherine (Terry) Randall, Sunnyvale, CA, Susan (Russell) Zephier, Chadron, NE, and brother, Glenn Raymore, Mtn. View, CA.
Nieces; Jessica Brittenham, Newport Beach, OR, Julie Beth Randall, Santa Barbara, CA, Sara Zephier, Chadron, NE, nephew; Rusty Zephier, Chadron, NE, Terry Randall, Jr., Sunnyvale, CA.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Clarinda LeBeau, aunt, Althea (Brave) Swan, grandmother, Elizabeth (Kills First) Hunts the Enemy, grandfather, Antoine LaRondeau.
Michael was a proud family man and successful businessman. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a gifted artist and a talented craftsman.
Michael always represented himself, his family, and his Tribe in an honorable manner. He was a beloved son, father, husband, and brother. Michael was a gentle soul. Gone from us too soon, his kind ways, quiet strength and courage will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
