Cheryl Looking Back Collinns ( 2/24/1955 - 6/21/2014 )
Cheryl Lee LookingBack Collins, 59, of Rapid City, entered the spirit world on Sunday, June 1, 2014. Cheryl was born in Mexico on February 24, 1955 and was raised and lived her life in Rapid City, SD. Cheryl "ChiliBean" was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She was a very strong willed, independent and full-of- life woman. Her determination to "get the job done" led to such lifetime accomplishments as being a Director of The Career Learning Center and in 2001 she became Ms. Wheelchair of South Dakota. She had a passion for helping the homeless or anyone in need. She shared over 35yrs with her lifetime partner, Robert "Bobby" Goodman. Cheryl loved watching movies, her cooking shows and being a mother. Besides her son, she dedicated her final years to raising two beautiful children, Jairah Freytag and Tyrone Reed, whom she loved very much. She leaves behind her soul mate, Robert "Bobby" Goodman and her son, Ricky LookingBack, both of Rapid City; two nephews, Henry (Sally) Jordan and Raymond Jordan, both of Rapid City; two nieces, Jessie Jordan of Richmond, VA and Sherry Gerry-Darling (John) of Rapid City, her brother-in-law, Richard Gerry Sr. of Rapid City; seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Margret LookingBack; her sister, Donna Mae Gerry; and her niece, Kay Marie Jordan. She will be greatly missed by many, but never forgotten. A Rosary service will be 7pm Thurs., June 5 at Mother Butler Center in Rapid City. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am Fri., June 6 at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Rapid City, with Father Dave Matzko as Celebrant.
