"Gene," Milford Eugene Kast

"Gene," Milford Eugene Kast, 65 of Rapid City, passed away on February 26, 2021.

Gene was born on September 29, 1955 to Milford and Mary (Garfield) Kast in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Gene graduated from Rapid City High School in 1973.

He married Marie Gross on October 6, 1973. Their marriage was blessed with two children Shannon and Shawn.

Gene owned his own business installing and maintaining heating and cooling systems and later worked for Tessier's Inc. doing similar work and overseeing crews. He loved to work hard, bowl, play golf or anything the grandkids were involved in. He coached youth bowling for many years and was recognized for his dedication to the kids and skill as a coach. He was caring, compassionate, and a fun-loving man who is already greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marie; his children Shannon (Lanny) Baum and Shawn (Julie) Kast; grandkids Aiden and Stephanie Baum, Carsen and Keegen Kast, Brooke and Trenton Outka; and sister Tresea (Johnny) Reede.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milford and Mary; his sister Darla Buchner; and brother Roy Allen Kast.
