Jacque Lynn Elwood Gerry, 42, Rapid City, died Monday, Feb. 24, 1997, at Rapid City Regional Hospital after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on Feb. 11, 1955, in Rapid City, the fourth of seven children, to Clyde B. and Vera Mae (Simon) Elwood. She spent all her life in Rapid City, graduating from Rapid City Central High School with the class of 1973. Jacque married Louis M. (Casey) Gerry on May 12, 1978. To this union one child was born, Kristina Marie Gerry. She was very active in her child's life. She served on the board of directors for Rushmore Little League and the Rapid CityEllsworth Junior Bowling Association. She was employed at Meadowood Lanes from 1981 until the time of her death. She was the most knowledgeable nonbowler. She was the driving force behind her husband's and daughter's bowling. For a shy person, she made many friends, young and old during her years at Meadowood. She is survived by her husband, Casey Gerry, Rapid City; one daughter, Kristina Gerry, Rapid City; her parents, Clyde and Vera Elwood, Nis-iand; her parental grandparents, Lena and Ralph Fenner, Rapid City; two brothers, Edward Elwood, Nisland, and Clyde E. Elwood and his wife, Ardyce, Rapid City; four sisters. Rose Abernathy and her husband, Steve, Spearfish, and Wanda Estes and her husband, Lee, Jean Mardian and her husband, Jim, and Terry Elwood, all of Rapid City; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special little friend, Miles Penticaff.
