April 4, 1955 - November 16, 2014

Kaye Lynne Back, 59, of Black Hawk, South Dakota, died peacefully in her family home on November 16, 2014. Born April 4, 1955 in Fremont, Nebraska, to Bion and Helen Schnaser of Rapid City, South Dakota. Kaye worked as a secretary at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, RC Regional Hospital, and many financial institutions in the area. Reading was a passion as she served on the board of the Sturgis Library and started her own neighborhood "Free Little Library". She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing games and traveling to be with her children no matter the distance, cruising with her husband, living and loving her pets, Missy, Mitize, Kringle, Buffy, McKenzie, Terra, Benny, and our new additions Abby and Virgil. Her adventures included traveling to Italy with a special group of parish members; Ireland with her husband, mom, dad, and sister Marcia; Germany to visit her sister Karen; Korea where her daughter and family were stationed; and traveling the United States. She was surrounded by love everywhere she went; especially from her husband who cared for her and adored her up until her last breath. Survivors include her husband, Marion (Tony) Back; son Warren (Lynn) Back; daughters A'Lisa Moore, Corinne (Ryan) Hoppe, and Toniette (Rick) Heidorn; eleven grandchildren Cassandra, Mary, Maddison, Tyler, Teah, Jordan, Jessica, Kimberly, Ashley, Jacob, and Elizabeth; mom Helen Schnaser; sisters Marcia Williamson and Karen Twohy; sister-in-law Verna Grauel; nieces Angela (Mitch) Linster, Amy (Shawn) Astrom, and Elise Twohy; nephew Justin Twohy, and two great nephews Brandon and Bion; and aunts, uncles and cousins. Her father, Bion Schnaser, preceded her in death. Visitation and Wake Service will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 7:00pm at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 10:00am at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help with Fr. Michel Mulloy as celebrant and concelebrated by Fr. Ed Vanorny, Fr. Jonathan Dillon and Fr. Riccardo Pennati. Burial will be at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with a reception to follow at the Cathedral Hall. A memorial has been established in her honor. Family and friends may sign Kaye's online guestbook at www.kirkfuneralhome.com
