Brian Joseph Blasy   October 3, 1953 - February 10, 2024

Brian Joseph Blasy, age 70, of Rapid City, SD, peacefully passed away on February 10, 2024 in his home. Born on October 3, 1953, in Dickinson, ND, to Martin and Betty (Feiler) Blasy, Mr. Blasy's formative years were spent amidst the agricultural landscape of a family farm in Dickinson. Subsequently, at 6 years of age his family relocated to Rapid City in 1960, where he graduated from Central High School in 1973.

Embracing a commitment to professional development, Brian pursued his education at Western Dakota Tech, achieving EMT certification. His career path led him to a significant tenure as a dedicated steelworker, contributing to the industrial landscape for many years. In the year 1980, Brian met Cynthia Neve, and their union brought forth three sons in the following birth order: Matthew, Andrew, and Zechariah.

Beyond his professional achievements, Brian found solace and joy in assembling intricate Lego creations, relishing in the narratives of western and Sci-Fi cinema, and amassing a collection of literature and media centered around extraterrestrial phenomena.

The legacy of Brian Joseph Blasy is cherished by his surviving sons, Matthew and Zechariah Blasy of Rapid City, SD, and Andrew Blasy of Ashland, OR, along with his loved granddaughter, Cynthia Blasy. He is also survived by his siblings Bruce of Westminster, CO, Curt (Pame) of Sioux Falls, SD, Denise of Bismarck, ND, Audrey (Gordon) of Rapid City, SD, and Todd of Bismarck, ND. Regrettably, Brian was preceded in death by his former spouse, Cynthia (Neve) Blasy, his parents, Martin and Betty Blasy, in addition to his niece Madeline Mack.

In honoring his memory, Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
